Oh KAY Writers
Neridia
Door to the EverThawe
A hybrid book and game within the world of Neridia — read the book, explore a part of the world, uncover secrets.
“Play it careful, play it safe. That's what I always told myself when entering this new, strange and nefarious world. But time is running out. My sister grows sicker by the day. I don't have time to play it carefully anymore. I'm going to Rocktorr.”
Time is running out for Lark Fox. Her sister is dying — and there is no cure for her; not in this world anyhow. But after a mysterious trip to a new cave in Ulthra, Lark's life was turned upside down when she found herself in EverThawe: a dark, twisted, and magical world.
She enters it when walking through a door, and leaves the same way; never knowing when she will be taken from her world or brought back.
Door to the EverThawe is something that I have been quietly building alongside Paranoia and Shadow Guardian. This project doesn't fit within the horror catalogue, so it gets its own home here.
It is built like a book first and a game second, as most of your time will be spent reading (or listening to the audio book). But you can spend time exploring the world, unlocking artworks, browsing the wiki and maps. You pick up the next book and unlock more from the map, more lore, and artwork.
It is going to be played in portrait orientation on the phone, or normally via the PC. It's a book within the world. Or that is the theme I am going for.
Currently three books (novellas) are already written and in the editing process. My goal is to get a demo of how the game/book is going to look — and make it available for you to enjoy along with the first book, for free. You will be able to download it via the Google Play Store, or access it via the web — links will be provided.
Be the first through the door. Founding readers hear it from me first — when the free demo and first book land, plus early access and glimpses of Neridia as it's built.
Status
Currently in active development. No release date yet — this one is being built slowly, the way a book gets written. Follow the dev blog for updates.
Platforms
Built in Unity for Windows and Android first. A free WebGL demo will land on itch.io once the first vertical slice is ready to share.
Will there be ads on the app?
At the moment — absolutely not. It breaks the immersion. There might be changes in the future, but I want to make sure the ads will never interfere with the experience. But there will be in-app purchases as more books become available to read.
My hope is to also get the books available on Steam — where you will be able to buy more books in the form of DLCs.
Can I support the project?
Yes! I have a Ko-Fi, and this will certainly help speed up my journey. Once the demo is complete, there may be other ways for you to support the project and receive rewards within the book/game as well.

EverThawe is going to take a while. If you want to watch a book-game grow from a dock and a door into something bigger, the dev blog is where it happens.
